``Kyoto has the best fish in the city of New Orleans. Every time I eat there, I am amazed at the quality of the food that I receive on my table. The owners are always at the restaurant and know their customers and converse with them regularly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is serene. The wait staff is excellent, but the food is the main attraction. Kyoto has a large assortment of specialty rolls - particularly good are the crunchy, rock and roll, Sara (a variation on their Spicy Shrimp Roll), junya, tabo, and rainbow rolls. All of their sauces are hand-prepared and the taste is far superior to any other restaurant I have been to. The owner/head chef Mitsuko Tanner has created many exceptional dishes, from appetizers like the stuffed shiitake mushrooms and the whitefish carpaccio (fresh whitefish marinated in a basil-infused olive oil vinaigrette with ponzu sauce and served over a bed of red onions - quite impressive) to the sashimi, sushi and chirashi...amazing. The udon, soba and sukiyaki are noteworthy in their taste as well. There is hardly anything mediocre about Kyoto. The tuna is always fresh and appetizing. So is the yellowtail and mackerel. Very generous portions of food and worth the price.''
