``I've been eating at Tsunami for nearly two years. It is actually my first experience with a restaurant that mainly serves sushi. It is not buffet type service so the sushi is always fresh. I started out with the California maki roll at a local festival and moved on to the bento boxes the first time I ate in the restaurant. This is not one of those restaurants that you feel uncomfortable being in. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the employees appear to love their jobs. They tend to get to know the clients fairly quickly and actually talk to you beyond taking your order and checking on you regularly. They are also helpful with opinions on trying new things and recommendations on orders. The decor is very urban and not over the top Japanese, incorporating beautiful kimonos on the walls as art along with various pieces by local artists. The waiters and bartenders wear casual clothing, not uniforms. The sushi is always fresh and well presented. Local favorites like crawfish are represented on the sushi menu (the John Breaux roll among others named for local personalities). The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. It's definitely a favorite hang out for people who work in the downtown area. I also understand that there is a children's menu. I highly recommend it.''
