``I don't know what restaurant some of the other reviewers were in, but I don't think it is the Gen Kai that I know and enjoy immensely. For a sushi addict like myself, Gen Kai is a welcome place to get a fix. Congenial staff, a lively clientele, definitely one of my two favorite sushi hangouts in town, and this one is decidedly less expensive than the other (Raw Bar). A great place to take folks if they're not well versed in Japanese cuisine, and they have accomodations for groups of up to 10-12 in a side room, as well as the semi-circular sushi bar and quite a number of tables in the front part of the restaurant. Love it!''

Variety of sushi: Usual selection.

Promptness of service: Very slow.

``Waited for an hour and a half to start receiving meal. Servers were rude. When we asked what was taking so long, manager grabbed my dad and told us to leave. When we left staff came out and physically attacked me! We only got 1/3 of our order and they wanted us to pay all of it. We have been coming here for more than 15 years but will never go back. Under new management maybe that's why? Take my advise go to raw bar or Katsus, unless you want to wait and be attacked.''

``We waited for an hour and our food wasn't served! Worst, the owner was so impolite and was shouting at us because we cancelled our order. ''
