``Very clean and presentable sushi house. The owner and main chef is from Japan, and is a licensed sushi chef. The portions are large considering the small price, and the sushi is very fresh. It is a casual atmosphere, good for group get-togethers. If you know sushi well enough, you can even request things that aren't on the menu, and if the chef has the available ingredients, he'll make it for you. It is not a huge restaurant, it sits about 28 give or take, at full capacity. The non-sushi items are very good, especially the salmon katsu curry.''
About MarinePolis/Sushiland (Portland, Portland area, Oregon)

Variety of sushi: Usual selection.
|
Cleanliness - dining and visible kitchen areas: Not that clean.
|
``The sushi itself is not that bad, however it is cranked out of a machine, slapped together by one of the workers (not a sushi chef by any means), and put on the electric `revolving counter' for you to pick and chose whatever type of sushi you want. It is fine to go to eat cheaply, but if you want quality sushi, stay far away.''
About Koji Osakaya (Portland, Portland area, Oregon)

Presentation of sushi: Poor.
|
Accuracy of service: Accurate.

``The restaurant itself doesn't have much of a `jJpanese flair' to it, and the food itself is just above horrible - fried in lots of oil, quite greasy - it is very much like a restaurant that only serves Japanese food on the side, the quality of the food is very poor, it is more like Japanese `fast food'.''
