About Tokyo Japanese Restaurant (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA)
Last visited April 2002.
No rankings sent.
``This restaurant closed in 2002. Try calling the # to see if it's reopened elsewhere - the strip mall it was in is being "renovated" (torn down). Was a nice little place.''
About Nanakusa (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA)
Last visited October 2003.
|
Variety of sushi: Somewhat broader than average.
|
Promptness of service: Notably attentive.
|
``Good food, not terribly expensive for sushi, fresh, tasty, enjoyable. Also has a variety of sake and wine with apparently knowledgable staff to select just the right one.
``Hard surfaces = lots of noise when they're crowded. Not the place for a quiet dinner. Modern decor. Parking can be a pain (on-street downtown). ''
About Restaurant Hama (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA)
Last visited February 2004.
|
Variety of sushi: Somewhat broader than average.
|
Promptness of service: Slow.
|
``This is in a pricey suburb, so costs more than usual.
``Lots of hard surfaces = gets very loud. Interesting modern decor; look at the ceiling.
``Try the caterpillar roll and rainbow roll - both large and pretty.
``Speed of service depends a lot on how crowded they are. On a busy night, be prepared to wait at every step, especially if you're at a table. Sitting at the sushi bar seems to work best, and you get to watch the preparation. ''
About Izumi's Restaurant (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA)
Last visited April 2002.

Variety of sushi: Somewhat broader than average.
|
Promptness of service: Prompt.

``Very nice, very fancy, very expensive even for sushi.
``Recently renovated, they've moved from their former small building (maybe a 30-person dining room) to a larger building just south of the former property. Now has private dining rooms available.
``Servers are attentive and fun to talk to; sitting at the sushi bar is, as usual, interesting. ''
